Entering her second year of law school at the Paul M. Herbert Law Center at Louisiana State University this August 2024, Destiney Watson will also be completing her B.A. in Mass Communication with a concentration in public relations from the Manship School of Mass Communication at Louisiana State University as part of LSU's 3+3 pre-law program. Throughout the 2024-2025 academic year, Destiney will serve as treasurer for the Black Law Student Association at LSU.

Born and raised in New Orleans, LA, Destiney's journey through the public school system fueled her commitment to pursuing legal education. Her aim is to advocate for underrepresented minorities, ensuring equal access to resources and opportunities for marginalized communities.

Destiney is thrilled for the chance to intern at the ACLU of Louisiana, where she will learn how to advocate for civil rights in the legal arena and understand the impact litigation has on preserving civil liberties.
